Duleek & District AC achieves Club Mark Accreditation

Athletics Ireland is the governing body for athletics clubs in Ireland. An important part of their role is to help make Irish athletics clubs safer, stronger and more successful. One way that this is achieved, is through the newly-established Club Mark Accreditation system. Club Mark applauds excellence in safeguarding, coaching and club management.

In March 2014, following an intensive process of audit and assessment, Duleek & District Athletic Club was awarded Athletics Ireland’s “Club Mark” award. The report accompanying our notification of the award included the statement that: “The detail in your response and all supporting
documentation is excellent” and the club achieved an astounding overall score of 94.74%!!

“Clubs accredited to the Athletics Ireland Club Mark can be proud of what they have achieved. They will have demonstrated a definite commitment to developing athletics. Parents can be assured that their children are part
of a safe club. Members can be reassured their club is well-managed and
striving to offer the best in coaching and athletic experience.” Amongst the benefits of Club Mark Accreditation are discounted coaching courses and sports
equipment for little athletics groups. It also provides reassurance to parents and guardians of juvenile members that best practice approaches to child protection and child welfare are being
practiced within the club. Congratulations to all of the Committee, Coaches and Volunteers in Duleek & District Athletic Club for achieving this fantastic award and for once again demonstrating the club’s commitment to the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of their work!
